White Pine of Blaine Campus-Animals
/“We LOVE when animals come to visit! Animals are always welcome at the Blaine Campus!”
Community news from our beautiful assisted living and memory care communities.
We offer a wide variety of activities at our communities. Below are just a few examples of the fun we are having at White Pine, Comforts of Home and Gracewood Senior Living.

Local Girl Scouts from the area came to Gracewood of Hugo to visit with the residents. The Girl Scouts started by singing some of their favorite Girl Scout songs. They also brought a variety of flowers and helped the residents plant the flowers into flower pots. The evening ended with a sing-a-long of old time favorite songs. Fun was had by all ages.
The Stokes family came to Gracewood of Hugo to play recital pieces for us on May 19th, 2016. Rachel played violin, Ruth played the cello, and their mother and father alternated on the piano. They blessed us with their beautiful music for 45 minutes. The residents along with family members commented on how they enjoyed the music.
Norm the Magician joined us in White Bear Lake for an afternoon of fun! We’re having a great time!
April showers bring May flowers AND Mother’s Day! Our whole North Branch Gracewood family got together for a beautiful celebration of Mother’s and Daughters. It was a fun night with music by Vinnie Rose. Vinnie had everyone singing and tapping toes. We had snacks and a delicious dessert to top off all the fun. Everyone had so much fun, we can’t wait for Father’s Day in June! Happy spring everyone!
Gracewood of Hugo honored mothers with a Mother’s Day celebration on May 5th. The fun started with the band Reminisce playing some old time country music for us. After the toe tapping music, they enjoyed cake, ice cream, punch, and visiting with family members.
Please join us for a Father’s Day picnic, Thursday, June 16th. Dinner starts at 5:00 followed by sing-a-long music with Steve Rosa on guitar. RSVP to Chris or Kat in the kitchen so we can plan accordingly for dinner.
Gracewood of Hugo had a visit from a therapy horse Dr. Pepper, in April. The owner of the horse talked about the training of the horse and the many awards the horse has received. Dr. Pepper has even appeared on television. Every resident had the opportunity to pet the horse and even brush the horse if they so desired.
The Yes-U-Can Cloggers performed at Gracewood of Hugo again this spring. The Cloggers change their music each year so the performance is always new. The residents enjoy the variety of toe-tapping music and watching the Cloggers move quickly to the music.
I would like to extend the invitation to you all to submit a recipe for our Comforts of Home cook book. If you have not been made aware of this exciting project I attached the flyer for your viewing! We hope to have them in print by mid-summer and to be able to sell them to raise funds to support Alzheimer’s awareness.
Our residents, families and staff have all been invited to take part in this and I would love for you too as well!
