Spring Has Sprung at White Pine Fridley!
Here at White Pine Fridley April has flown by much too fast. This month we got a head start on our planting on Earth day, April 22nd residents potted small grass plants for their room, and they are already sprouting! Men with Hope visited us this month as well, singing a great variety of music from country gospel to the good oldies! Resident’s couldn’t help but get up and dance when they played some polka favorites! The resident’s also enjoyed sampling some great beers and cheeses this month in honor of National Beer & Cheese fondue days!
Happy Spring from our Gracewood family in North Branch! Everyone is so excited for warmer weather. Easter is a wonderful sign of spring, and we had such a great time doing assorted Easter crafts, and of course remembering the resurrection of our Savior. We had a lot of eggs to decorate and everyone was all smiles when they took their eggs out of the color. We were giggling at Delores as she was coloring eggs and Darrel was eating them! We look forward to seeing all the flowers start to poke through the ground and getting some warmth on the patio.
Wilson Tool of White Bear Lake came to Gracewood of Hugo on March 24th to give the residents a wonderful evening filled with music and refreshments. Wilson Tool brought its own band called Strings and Things to perform to the residents and family members for an entire hour. They also set up a large sundae bar with three different kinds of ice cream and all the toppings, as well as fresh flowers for all our tables, and a sun catcher for every resident to bring to his or her room. Wilson Tool is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this summer by giving back to their community.
I wanted to let you know that we had these wonderful gentlemen comeand play for us. The Brady Jazz Band were amazing and the residents really enjoyed the evening entertainment. We are looking forward to traditional meals for St. Patrick’s Day of Corn Beef and Cabbage and Easter with Baked Ham. Special desserts will also be served on these days. We look forward to Bell Ringers coming to play for us on March 30th
Gracewood of Hugo held their first ever Valentine’s Dance on Friday February 12th. The evening started with a wonderful dinner prepared by our chef. Joe, the accordion player, played dinner music and played plenty of polkas and waltzes after dinner for everyone to dance to. Spouses of residents were invited to share a nice evening with their loved ones.
