The Fall Celebration at Hugo was held on October 30th. Festivities included a visit from a miniature therapy horse. The horse did a demonstration and the residents all had a chance to pet the horse. The evening concluded with a dinner with family members and a fabulous sing-a-long with Kelly Rogstad.
Happy November! Gracewood in North Branch has had quite a flurry of activity lately. We had a fall carnival – and did we have fun! Over 100 kids and adults filled our building! We had games, clowns, good music by Mike Larson, a bouncy house, and we even had a fishing game with real fish for prizes! One of our residents had 15 family members join in the fun! The kids were smiling ear to ear and even with clown noses on! We hope that you have a month filled with bushels of blessings and a Happy Thanksgiving. Stop in to visit our building sometime. We’ll have the coffee on.
Halloween was a BLAST at White Bear Lake! Plenty of costumes and good laughs. Come join us for our Thanksgiving festivities this month. We have Thanksgiving Tea and Treats on November 20th at 2pm and Turkey Bingo on November 27th at 1pm. On November 11th we will also be honoring all of our Veterans that have served our county at our Veterans Day Party.
Pie & Ice Cream Social Saturday, November 8 from 1-3 PM.
Comforts of Home Chippewa Falls hosted the Optimist Halloween party on Saturday October 25th. Plenty of ghosts and goblins attended. They enjoyed music, food, games, face painting with the grand finale costume judging. Several tenants opened their doors for trick or treating which made for a Happy Halloween and a great time was had by all.
Tony, a young man that comes to Gracewood regularly to sing to us, came twice this month. Tony sings a variety of music from the 50’s and 60’s. Tony is very interactive with the residents. He dances, holds their hands, and has them sing the words to some of the songs. Last time Tony was here, he brought glasses that lit up and had the residents try them on.
Two classrooms of fifth grade students came to Gracewood to visit with us last Wednesday. The children rode their bikes from a nearby school in Hugo. The students brought books and spent the morning reading. They also had fun visiting with the residents.
